Judge Let Anti-Wal*Mart Crank Sue for 2¢

A small-town judge in Western Pennsylvania let an anti-Wal*Mart crank sue the world’s largest retailer for two cents, and then awarded her $100 plus court costs.

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, “Murrysville consumer activist Mary Bach claims the overcharge was intentional” when the price for a package of sausages she bought scanned for two cents more at the cash register than what had been marked on the display.

Though the store offered to refund her two cents, Bach opted for a lawsuit instead, and Murrysville District Judge Charles Conway, a model for Judicial Hellholes judges everywhere, indulged her quixotic madness at taxpayer expense.
